Your brain as sharp as your body.
I started 50fifty to help people over the age of 50 stay fit. Let's face it! We are all getting older, living longer and all need our minds sharpened! Even if you physically work out to live longer and have a better life, what good is that life if you don't have your mind as sharp as your body?
A real passion.
For 25 years, I have had a real passion not only for physical fitness, but also for exercising my brain on a regular basis with computerized based games. In my case I definitely wanted a fit and strong body, but knew as time went on I needed more than ever to keep my brain just as fit as my body. That's why I believe that "keeping fit" today truly has a whole new meaning.
A better workout for baby boomers.
As a client of personal trainers and countless gyms over the last 25 years, I found many things missing from my daily workout as I got older and as my body was changing. For example, workouts should not be intimidating...they should be fun and engaging! Workouts should be personalized, customized and exclusively for me...not for the masses with hundreds of eyes watching me! Tracking and measuring my results seemed to be secondary...versus being a major motivating factor based on all my hard work. Finally, no one was addressing how to stimulate and rejuvenate my brain along with my body. Not hours after my physical workout, but when my brain could get the maximum benefit of a full exercise program.
My two loves.
After extensive research, I found that my two loves, working out and engaging in brain fitness, actually have a great deal in common and should be done at the same time. It's a fact! A fit body and sharp mind are the two most important ingredients for a full and vibrant life. No one was addressing this fitness regime in this holistic manner. That's when and why I started 50fifty!
For the same dollar and time commitment.
Many of us make a gigantic time and dollar commitment to keeping fit by utilizing a gym and/or a personal trainer. In return we hope to see results (a stronger, thinner, better toned body). This is also true when making a similar commitment to exercising our brain. But here's the catch. If you are doing one without the other, you are only doing half the job. More importantly, you are doing it for the same dollar and time commitment you are currently making each week.
On your own...but will you?
There is no question you could do this all on your own, and I hope you will if you can't come to 50fifty. But the question is...Will you? For me and many others, a set appointment, a weekly regime and coaching from my personal trainer made sure I remained committed and on track to reach my maximum potential. At 50fifty we use proven tools, special equipment and personalized one-on-one sessions in our private gym where it will be only you and your trainer. Most importantly, we are tracking and measuring your results to show you meaningful progress.
